Village Park Restaurant, Petaling Jaya
After many years of living in KL, I finally brought myself to visit the much talked about...Village Park! Of course a friend who was visiting wanted to check it out.

There was a short queue just outside the restaurant, but the footman was very efficient with handling the traffic in and out, so it wasn’t a long wait to get inside.
I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people that were able to be accommodated in the restaurant considering the amount of space they had.

With the amount of space they could cater for, they have a turnaround period of 30 minutes per table (which is pretty quick if you eat slow). I thought their service was commendable with the amount of tables and service staff present, I felt that their staff were pretty fast, agile and aware of taking orders considering the amount of people coming in and out of the restaurant. Cleaning tables fairly quick, remembering special requests like how I wanted my sambal to be served separately (always a win whenever staff remembers!) It's the little things that really make a difference to me.

Growing up, ordering nasi lemak at a restaurant was highly low. I grew up with the road side 1 ringgit 50 cents kind, most of the time it was always being tao-paoed back to have for breakfast or tea time. Something about roadside nasi lemak that will always have a place of nostalgia in my heart.... I guess because I grew up eating the tiny little packets that I didn't always feel like it was necessary for me to order it at a restaurant.

Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng (RM10.50)
I'll start of by saying.... this is a decent plate of nasi lemak. In my usual small packet of nasi lemak I usually look forward to having my quarter egg (never understood why a quarter), but not today! The ayam goreng (fried chicken) was fresh, perfectly cooked with its crisp exterior of rempah coating, the inside was still juicy and succulent, just right to me. Hooray to juicy hot chicken!
Can I just say the rice was *chef's kiss* my favourite thing on the plate. The rice was fragrant, fluffy and light, and because of how well the rice was cooked, you could really tell each grain apart. No mushy rice here! I could just eat the rice here by its own, pack full of flavour and lemak!
Overall, it was truly a well cooked plate of nasi lemak.
Was it the best I've ever had? No.
Was it the worst? No.
Village Park is definitely a place I'd bring my friends from abroad to! They have quite a number of our local dishes here like nasi dagang, assam laksa, Penang prawn mee, chee cheong fun, pan mee and even Ipoh hor fun! The best part is that its indoors! That means, none of my foreign friends can say "it's so hot" lah.
